This is a great show and I love Judge Caprio and the Inspector but let’s be real about it. Nobody gets their tickets dismissed in real court. Courts are primarily a money making operation that mercilessly preys on the poor.

Mvri87: Someone explain me why US people have to see a judge for speeding or passing a red light. Here (in Germany) you will receive a letter from the authorities which tells you how much money you have to pay. There is a certain amount of money for a certain speed, so everything can be arranged without a judge or a lawyer. You can either pay or enter an objection against it. If you refuse to pay you will need a lawyer and then maybe it will come to a trial. But the usual way is that people just pay the fine. So you are being punished as well but without having to see a court from the inside. Is it really necessary to occupy a judge for trivia?
George Roumeliotis: wonder something. Why is such a great judge doing traffic court? Why was he not promoted to a higher court? Of course, it’s fine and good if he is perfectly happy doing traffic court. We need great judges at all levels. Just curious. Someone educate me, please.
