Caught in Providence: The Good Son

I was 13 years old working in a warehouse until 3:00 am sometimes when we had extra trucks to unload and one week I made $73 which was a lot of money for us in those days and I always came home and gave every cent to my mother. I would give her all the money than ask if I could have a few dollars to go see a movie or buy something to eat with my friends.

We didn’t think of any other option, large family, parents struggling to keep a roof over our head and food on the table, it was a given. I am actually grateful to have been in the position to help out. My brothers and sisters did the same. Proud of this mother and this young man! (ExtrovertedCenobite)

Here are some more comments:

– Very good attitude and humility for a young man in today’s world, 1 negative was how he answered the judge but when the judge dismissed his case his response was sooo good. Good son indeed. – Dorothy Carty

– When I turned 18 (I’m 68 now), I was working and my parents made me pay $100 a month for rent because I was still at home. They weren’t pushing me out but teaching me responsibility. About two months before my 19th birthday I found an apartment and told my parents I was moving out not because I didn’t love them but because it was time for me to be on my own. I took my dad to my new place before signing the paperwork just to get his input. The day I moved out they gave me in cash all the money I had paid them an d told me to use it for the security deposit, some of the rent and to buy some food and other necessities to get started. I never forgot what they taught me and did the same with our children. This young man seems respectful and honoring to his mother. She did raise him well. Great video. – Larry D Mitchell

– Thank you judge frank for highlighting one of life’s values. and this is one that is not taught but comes from within. Stay safe everyone. – Pete t. ling

– Momma you are doing it right. Good job. Buckle up young man. We need people like you to live long fruitful lives to carry on the good values your mother is instilling in you. – Jeremy Menning
